PADDY’S REWARDS CLUB
When Paddy Power asked us to promote their loyalty scheme ‘Paddy’s Rewards Club’ we told them to get real. There’s no such thing as loyalty, especially in the world of sport.
Instead we used it as an opportunity to denounce loyalty altogether and focus on the ‘Rewards’ bit instead. Then took the victim of one of modern man’s most notorious acts of betrayal and made him our ambassador….
Introducing, Rhodri Giggs.*
*Just in case you missed it, football icon Ryan Giggs famously had an 8 year affair with his brother Rhodri’s wife.
The film caused quite a stir - being shared millions of times in the first day alone, before it had even gone on TV. It then ended up in every paper going, with The Metro calling it ‘The greatest TV ad there ever was’…
…It was all over websites, radio shows and podcasts with TalkSport dedicating nearly five whole minutes of their show to discussing the ad;
But we didn’t stop there. After launching the film we then stuck Rhodri on a massive building right in the centre of Manchester. Banter.
And before long he was getting touted to appear on Corrie’.
Months after the films release the campaign was still making headlines, with Rhodri appearing on Good Morning Britain to talk about the ad.
Which then got the tabloids talking about people talking about the ad….
Which was great. But no amount of PR or awards can compete with hearing Richard Madeley say he likes your work.
