We oversee tactical work on Paddy Power. Here’s a selection of our favourite bits we’ve gotten out the door so far…
WOODWARD’S
As the 2020 summer transfer window was drawing to a close, Manchester United had failed to buy any of the countless players they were interested in. The club’s chief executive, Ed Woodward was getting all the blame.
So, we stuck the (football) boot in, by building a shop called ‘Woodwards’ right in the middle of Manchester city centre. The shop showcased all the players the club had been linked with and advised you ‘Look but don’t buy’.
The idea was presented on the Friday night, with transfer deadline day the following Monday, meaning we had to design and create the whole shop over the weekend. It was worth it, with social media having a feild day, and a number of publications picking up on the mischief too.
HELPING HECTOR
Arsenal model and occasional full back Hector Bellerin pledged to plant 3000 trees for every game Arsenal won… which wasn’t that many. So Paddy Power stepped in to help him, offering to plant 6000 for every game they lost. Here’s a TV ad we made for the FA Cup Final where Arsenal played Chelsea.
KNOCKING OUT GERMANY
Euro 2020. Last 16 knock out v Germany. Englands biggest game in decades. Immediately after Gareth’s boys knocked the Auld Enemy out, we ran this tactical ad on Paddy’s social channels.
TOE-NAILGATE
Ex Manchester United legend Paul Scholes rightly broke the internet when he was filmed chewing his daughters toenails for reasons we’re still not sure of…
Naturally, we felt we had to jump on news this big, and so we created this poster in the lead up to the Manchester Derby the very next day;
ROONEY’S ENGLAND RETURN
National press for Wayne Rooney’s controversial England farewell v USA.
BALE RE-JOINS SPURS
Big news back in the summer. (not so much after seeing him play since). We got this cheeky tactical ad out for the very next day (referencing Bales infamous love of the golf course) so it ran before he landed in London to sign for Spurs.
SPECIAL GONE
A quicky we got done when Jose was surprisingly sacked in December.
TROPHY RETURN POINT
When Manchester City were found guilty of breaching Financial Fair Play, there was talk that they might have their Premier League trophies rescinded. So we built a huge ‘Trophy Return’ bin and plonked it right outside their stadium in Manchester.
THIRD SEASON SYNDROME
A few months before that, this ran alongside the many national stories regarding Manchester United’s dismal start to the 2018/19 season - Mourinho’s third in charge of the club…
